Sharing Books & Traditional, Non-Electronic, Toy Play Best for Young Children's Language Development

Investigators found that when parents and children read books or play with "traditional" toys (blocks, puzzles, shape-sorters), they share much greater quantity and quality of language than when playing with electronic toys (JAMA Pediatrics, May 2016). My advice...go "old school" and boost your child's language development while avoiding the cost and environmental expense of batteries!
