Researchers, using sophisticated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain, report structural changes in the brains of children after three years of regular video game play compared to children with lower video game exposure (Molecular Psychiatry, January 2016). The brain changes were associated with progressive decrease in verbal intelligence measures at increasing levels of video game exposure.  Let's "unplug" our children and encourage them to play outdoors!
